A decent cookie storage container will transform your cookie life for the better. While all of these containers are excellent options, pay special attention to the important characteristics to determine which one is best for you.
1. OXO Good Grips POP Container (Top Choice)
- Easy cleaning, BPA-free and durable plastic, dishwasher-safe, button lid for enhanced security and freshness, stackable, big capacity
- Size: 2.8 quarts
- Material: Plastic
When you need a dependable cookie storage container that can manage both large and little jobs, the OXO Good Grips POP Container is the way to go. These containers are designed for ease and longevity, so you won’t need to replace them anytime soon.
What is it about these containers that we adore? For one thing, they take up little room and may be stacked with other POP containers if required. This means you won’t have to worry about taking up valuable kitchen space, which isn’t true for all cookie jars.
With these sturdy plastic jars, simplicity is essential. They can store up to 2.8 quarts of cookie dough and are completely dishwashing safe. This simplifies cleaning while also preventing smells from accumulating.
The lid is the nicest feature. There is a handy button in the center that locks in freshness. When you’re ready to fill your cookie or take a mouthful, raise it. When you’re ready, press the button to produce a really airtight seal that works like magic.
Some customers were dissatisfied with the pricing. But, in reality, you get what you pay for. These are without a doubt the most practical and long-lasting containers on our list. They are, in my opinion, well worth the money.
2. Rubbermaid Leak-Proof Brilliance Food Storage Set (Best for Frosted Cookies)
- Key Features: Pack of two for the best value, BPA-free and robust plastic, 360-degree views, ideal for frosted cookies, easy stacking, dishwasher-safe
- Size: 1.3, 3.2, 4.7, or9.6 Cup
- Material: Plastic
Have you ever tried storing frosted cookies in a traditional cookie jar? Put it out of your mind. That is the easiest way to undo all of your efforts. We obviously wish to prevent this at any cost. You’ll need a flat storage container to hold your adorned cookies.
This is when the Rubbermaid set comes in handy. This set includes two 100% airtight containers that are short and broad, making them ideal for keeping cookies in a single layer. They’re composed of BPA-free, super-strong plastic, which ensures their safety and longevity.
These distinctively designed cookie storage containers also have useful vents underneath the latches to allow for ventilation when needed. They may also be thrown in the freezer, cabinet, or dishwasher without being damaged. Save space by stacking two or more containers!
Last but not least, I like the fact that these containers are completely transparent. I’m the sort of person who wants to know how many cookies I have left before making another batch. With a full 360-degree view of my cookies, I know just when to begin stirring ingredients.
Because these storage containers retain strong odors, I wouldn’t recommend using them for anything other than cookies or cookie-related items like sugar, walnuts, candies, and so on.
3. LocknLock Easy Essentials Food Lids (Budget Pick)
- BPA-free, safe and eco-friendly, flip-top lid with simple access, sturdy and durable, dishwasher-safe
- Size: 10.6, 21, or 50.7 cups
- Material: Plastic
Are you looking for a good bargain on cookie storage? This is the finest option whether you enjoy conventional chocolate chip cookies or want more adventurous tastes like zesty lemon.
The LockNLock cookie storage jar is constructed of BPA-free plastic that is both safe and eco-friendly; it’s a win-win for everyone. It’s also really high-quality, which means it’ll endure a long time and is strong enough to handle practically anything.
My favorite feature of this cookie storage is the distinctive quick access flip lid. Simply lift the top, take the cookies, and eat them on your way back to your bedroom. It can be frozen and microwaved (if required), but it is also dishwasher safe.
After all, you don’t want tastes to mix, particularly if they’re two extremely distinct and distinctive sensations. Simply place this container in the dishwasher to be ready for another batch of delightful baked goods.
These storage bins may be a little tighter. But, hey, this high-quality cookie storage jar costs less than $10. Can we truly be upset over something so insignificant? I’d say it’s definitely worth buying, particularly given the low price and ease of use.
4. Anchor Hocking Heritage Hill Jar (Glass Option)
- Key features include an elegant look, an airtight seal, a sturdy jar with an accompanying lid, and a large, see-through design for convenience.
- Size: , 1, or 2 gallons
- Material: Glass
Some people see a cookie storage container as a sophisticated and expensive glass jar, similar to the one Grandma used to have in her kitchen. If you like glass cookie canisters, you will certainly enjoy this model from Anchor Hocking.
These extra-large glass jars are perfect for even the busiest baker. Choose the gallon size for lesser tasks or the two-gallon size if you intend on producing a lot of Christmas cookie goodies.
Regardless of size, you know you’re getting a glass cookie jar that will look nice on any kitchen counter. It’s a sturdy glass with an equally sturdy cover that creates an airtight seal to keep cookies fresh, which is vital, particularly for large cookie projects.
The nicest thing about this substantial glass cookie jar is that you can easily see what’s happening on within. No more being disappointed when you unintentionally take the final cookie from the cookie jar!
These lovely glass jars are ideal for preserving your favorite biscuits. However, bear in mind that it is loud. Because it is totally constructed of glass, putting the lid on top of the jar sounds like something is crashing and going wild in your kitchen. My recommendation? The race is won by going slowly and steadily.
5. DII Kitchen Accessories Collection Ceramics Cookie Jar (Ceramic Pick)
- Key features include a charming and vintage design, an airtight seal with a silicone gasket, and a variety of color possibilities.
- Size: 10.5 cups
- Material: Ceramic
Do you like ceramics? How about a cookie jar that is both simple and charming with a vintage twist? If you’re a ceramic and vintage-loving baker, the DII cookie jar is ideal.
The slogan Fresh Homemade Cookies is written across the front of this adorable cookie jar. With jars available in a variety of hues such as aqua, crimson, blue, dark green, and black, everyone can select one that complements their kitchen’s personality and style.
Aside from the attractive design, you’ll like that this cookie jar contains 10.5 cups of cookies and comes with a silicone gasket to instantly form an airtight seal. Finally, you can protect your cookies from pests such as ants or dryness in the air.
Shoppers adored this adorable cookie jar, although it was a little smaller than they had hoped. To avoid being taken off guard, double-check the capacity and dimensions of a cookie storage container before purchasing.
6. Sweetzer & Orange Airtight Glass Jar with Bamboo Lid (Smallest Jar)
- Sleek but rustic, ideal for small cookies, bamboo lid, airtight seal, 3mm thickness
- Size: 785ml, 1.175 L, 1.57 L, 2.2 L
- Material: Glass
I like baking small cookies on occasion. They’re the ideal bite-sized treats for a kid’s lunchbox or little container on the road. However, these small sweets may go misplaced in standard-sized cookie storage containers, which is less than ideal.
If you create miniature-sized cookies on a frequent basis, consider adding the Sweetzer & Orange jar to your cooking arsenal. These jars are basic and meant for bite-sized treats, and they look well on any kitchen countertop, regardless of style.
The bamboo cap atop the 3mm-thick glass jar is one of my favorite features of these containers. The bamboo cover gives this jar a natural touch, giving it the right blend of sleek, contemporary, and rustic.
These jars are now fully airtight, as shown by the inevitable pop noise made when the lid is removed. While other jars may be thinner, leaner, and less airtight, these jars give the user with the highest trust. You’ll like these thick, weighty, and opulent jars.
These cookie storage containers received almost no negative feedback. They’re dependable, thick, and really stylish. The only problem is with the package. Given that the jars are made of glass, several individuals believed they should have been properly cushioned.
7. Pacific Giftware Retro Oven Freshly Baked Ceramic Cookie Jar (Most Unique)
- Charming vintage style, wacky and one-of-a-kind décor, handpainted
- Material: Ceramic
I’m not sure about you, but I like out-of-the-box and somewhat quirky design, particularly in my kitchen. That’s why I included this one-of-a-kind cookie jar from Pacific Giftware.
This beautiful jar transports you to the 1950s, when pink appliances and décor were commonplace in almost every kitchen. The little jar comes with a stunning pink-colored appliance. Simply pull off the stovetop and get as many cookies as you like (we won’t tell!).
One unique characteristic of these cookie jars is that they are entirely hand painted. If you like goods that required time, effort, and accuracy, you’ll love having this antique cookie storage jar on your kitchen island. It’s an excellent housewarming present!
This is yet another cookie jar that was much smaller than anticipated. I cannot emphasize how important it is to pay attention to the dimensions and capacity! This will assist you in determining the size of the storage container and how many cookies will fit inside.
Best Cookie Storage Container: Things to Consider
I’m sure you’re looking forward to putting an end to the dried-out, old, and stale cookie disaster. But, before you buy one of these high-quality containers, keep the following points in mind.
Some folks were astounded by how little some of these cookie storage containers were, while others were astounded by how large they were. The best thing to do is compare the size of each storage container and choose one that meets your requirements.
This is related to the size. Consider how much space the storage container has. Otherwise, you could prepare a new batch of cookies only to discover that you don’t have enough storage room to keep them all.
Do you like glass containers? Or would you rather have plastic? This list contains a variety of materials, each with advantages and disadvantages. Glass, for example, is more opulent, but plastic is simpler to clean. Find the appropriate material for you.
Personally, I like keeping a pretty cookie jar on my counter. But I also like a simple and contemporary plastic container. Which one do you like better? If you can’t decide (like me), you can always have both. Isn’t it true that the more storage space you have, the better?
You’ll need a cookie storage container to keep your cookies from drying out or being infested with ants and other bothersome creatures. The easiest method to do this is with an airtight seal. While all of these cookie jars will keep predators and moisture at away, some are better positioned than others for airtight capacity.
The OXO Good Grips POP Container is my personal favorite of these cookie storing containers. It’s a dependable and practical container that everyone may use. Furthermore, the push top provides you complete control over the airtight seal, something you won’t find anywhere else.
Place the cookies in an airtight container or zip-top plastic bag if you want to consume them within a few days. A piece of sandwich bread may also be placed inside the container to absorb excess moisture and keep the cookies soft.
Airtight containers (plastic or glass) are excellent since they keep the cookies from cracking. Shallow, square, or rectangular containers with flat bottoms are best. (Cookies bend when they have rounded bottoms.) In between layers, use waxed or parchment paper.
Here are our suggestions:
Allow the cookies to totally cool.
Separate the cookie layers with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together.
Store in an airtight container or a zipper-lock freezer bag.
So you don’t forget what they are, date and label them!
4.4 Quart OXO Good Grips POP Container
I like Pyrex glass containers with lids over ordinary Ziploc bags since they keep cookies fresher for longer.” Choose durable, thick-walled storage containers like Cambros or Oxo.
Metal containers keep cookies firmer than plastic containers. Allow cookies to cool before storing them.
Put a piece of fresh white bread in the container with the cookies to keep them soft: fresh bread is moist, and that slice will give up its moisture for the greater good: preventing the cookies from drying out. White bread is recommended so that no taste is conveyed to the cookies.
Cookies may be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, although eating them sooner is preferable. Refrigerate cookies in a totally sealable plastic bag or plastic container.
Crisp cookies should be stored in a container with a looser-fitting lid. Keep cookies soft and chewy by storing them in a container with a tight-fitting cover. If your cookies get too soft, crisp them up in a 300oF oven for 5 minutes.
Most of the time, I prefer freezing cookie batter over freezing cooked cookies. That way, the cookies retain their beautiful handmade aroma and tenderness as they come out of the oven. However, if you want to do the work quickly, you may bake the cookies and then freeze them.
To keep cookies fresh, first place them in an airtight Zip-loc bag, then place the bag into a mason or cookie jar. When properly kept, cookies will keep for four to five days. Use a container made of glass, ceramic, or plastic.
